Kia Singapore Introduces the All-new Sonet, the First Kia Enhanced by Kia Connect Lite

The Kia Connect Lite is a one-stop vehicle connectivity service that is integrated into the myC&C app#, offering advanced control to drivers for an enhanced car ownership experience

Singapore, 1 January 2022 – Cycle & Carriage Kia has launched the all-new Sonet, a 1.5-litre compact urban SUV that is designed to connect. Derived from the words “Social Network”, the Sonet is aimed at a young generation of intrepid consumers who possess an appetite for adventure, are discerning about design, and embraces smart technologies. The all-new Sonet is the first Kia car to be enhanced by the Kia Connect Lite, and is the first in its segment to offer connected car services.

Kia Connect Lite: A New Dimension of Connectivity

Offering wide-ranging convenience and control, the Kia Connect Lite is loaded with smart features including Remote Control, Vehicle Status & Diagnostics, Vehicle Maintenance, Emergency Assist, Driving Statistics and History.

Through the Kia Connect Lite, users can lock and unlock their vehicle, start and stop the engine, remotely and seamlessly via their smartphones. Climate control can also be scheduled to be activated with engine ignition, allowing the vehicle to be cooled to a desired temperature before users enter the vehicle.

The service equips users with a comprehensive range of real-time diagnostic data related to vehicle status, including tyre pressure, fuel percentage, mileage, and battery status. It also allows users to initiate a vehicle health check to detect any vehicle faults, and upon detection, users will be notified through the smart messages feature, prompting them to book an appointment through the myC&C app to manage their vehicle maintenance.

Real-time trip logs, driving information, and other information like eco score and speed pattern can be accessed via the Kia Connect Lite, allowing users to learn more about their driving habits and behaviours over time.

Additionally, through the emergency assist feature on the Kia Connect Lite, the service will notify the pre-registered quick contact when the car’s airbags are activated, allowing for emergency response, even remotely.

Commitment to Enhance Customer Ownership Experience

The launch of the Kia Connect Lite service was first announced earlier in May this year, following the signing of an MoU between Kia Corporation and Cycle & Carriage Kia+ to operate a new ‘Smart Service Center’ online platform in Singapore. The announcement anchored Cycle & Carriage’s commitment to enhancing its customers’ ownership experience through smart technologies.

The Kia Connect Lite service is targeted to roll-out with selected Kia models in Singapore starting Q2 2022.

Kia Sonet: Compact Ride Packed with Features

With more than two-thirds of the Sonet made from advanced high-strength steel, this compact SUV is lightweight yet robust. This quality, coupled with Gamma 1.5L MPI engine, translates to exceptional handling, be it on the streets or on off-road terrain. The Sonet is available in CVT transmission.

Owing to its dynamic silhouette, imposing 16-inch alloy wheels, Heartbeat LED headlights and a muscular front that is crowned by Kia’s signature ‘tiger-nose’ grille, the Sonet boasts a strong on-road presence. The chrome belt line molding, the unique design of the C-pillar and the wrap-around glass also serve to accentuate the sense of luxury the Sonet exudes.

A highlight of its interior features is the sleek, flowing dashboard equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Connectivity. The center console features an intuitive design that provides easy access to the many features available in the car, as well as wireless smartphone charging.

Complete Comfort

The fittings of the car have been thoughtfully designed to provide users with the luxury of space and comfort — besides being ergonomic, the front seats are also ventilated, allowing users to remain cool even during hot weather and long commutes.

Pure Adventure

True to its sporty nature, the Sonet will feature a sliding sunroof and roof rack that lets users mount the outdoor gear needed for their adventures. Additional equipment can be stored in the generous 392-litre trunk, while cruise control can be activated for distance travel while on adventures.

Secured Ride

Though the Sonet is targeted at trendy urban adventurers, this compact urban SUV would also be an ideal ride for families that prioritise spaciousness and safety above all factors. This compact SUV has a host of safety features including an advanced 6-airbag system, Hill-Start Assist Control (HAC), front and rear Parking Distance Warning (PDW), Rear View Monitor (RVM), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and ISOFIX child-seat anchoring points.

The Kia Connect Lite service will be available on a subscription basis and is targeted to roll-out with selected Kia models in Singapore starting Q2 2022. The standard retail price for the subscription package starts from $600 for a 2-year plan.
