You don’t always get a chance to go on a road trip – but when you do, you’ll want to do it with the Grand C4 SpaceTourer.
"A group of friends and I were planning a 4-day 3-night road trip to Cameron Highlands – along the way, we were hoping to be able to catch the milky way for a rare photography opportunity. In order to enjoy the arduous journey from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, then to Ipoh and finally to Cameron Highlands, we simply had to take Citroën’s comfort-class Grand C4 SpaceTourer with us.
I was ready to experience this spacious 7-seater MPV for myself but mostly, curious to witness it accommodate all five of us, plus our photography gear and equipment. Indeed, the Grand C4 SpaceTourer was spacious! I particularly loved the panoramic windscreen, which came in handy in minimising possible blind spots – in fact, the view from the Grand C4 SpaceTourer, en route to Cameron Highlands, was definitely something different.
I have to admit, the 1.2cc turbocharged engine raised an eyebrow for me, but I was undoubtedly blown away by the engine. It felt as powerful as my current cars, and this engine was key to allowing me to overtake the other vehicles on the North South Highway, effortlessly. Even the 8-speed Auto Transmission was responsive enough to accelerate smoothly and seamlessly – no turbo lag of any sorts for the Grand C4 SpaceTourer, even if it is a turbocharged engine.
The fuel efficiency of this big and roomy car also surprised us; Having started our journey with just 70% fuel, we needed no refills all the way until Cameron Highland (even Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh stops considered)!
Of course, if there’s anything that we could all agree on, it has to be that the Grand C4 SpaceTourer is a uniquely comfortable car. You’ve got more than ample legroom, especially for a 1.9m tall giant, plenty of space despite a boot filled with shopping loots, photography equipment and even a full-sized cooler box, and my personal favourite – a massage function on the driver and front passenger seats!
Plus, considering the length and duration of this road trip, the suspension of the Grand C4 SpaceTourer was commendable as well. For a large group of us spending so much time in a 7-seater MPV, it definitely helps that the shock from the bumpy road to Malaysia was so well-absorbed by its Superior Suspension System.
