Bouncy brunch at Café Melba at Goodman Arts Centre
Nestled in the heart of Goodman Arts Centre, off Mountbatten Road, this is a popular spot for families with young children. With an open field situated right next to the café’s outdoor seating area, kids can run wild safely within sight of their cappuccino-sipping parents. The restaurant even has its very own bouncy castle guaranteed to keep little ones happy. Children’s arts and crafts sessions are also available on the first Saturday of each month.
What’s on the menu? A good mix of Australian-inspired fare with some local influences. Favorites include the eggs benedict and the carbonara pasta with onsen egg and parmesan. The special kids’ menu features pancakes and fish and chips.

Family feedback: “We really like having the big grassy field for our kids to play in,” said Nick Nuang, who brought his wife and three kids here on a Saturday morning. “The al fresco seating lets us watch them play in comfort while we’re finishing our brunch. I’m also impressed by the many options on the kids’ menu which is perfect for picky eaters – few brunch spots have such a wide choice.”

Tangy treats at Fresh Fruits Lab
Healthy eats made fun – it’s every parent’s dream, right? Well, head out East and you can relax in the knowledge that your family is indulging in dishes of wholesome goodness. Fresh Fruits Lab is a quirky science-lab themed café that prides itself on serving the freshest of ingredients and incorporating fruits in many of their dishes. The bright, pastel-painted interior and rows of colourful test tubes will be a big hit with young ones, while grown-up attractions include a selection of unique fruity beers such as the refreshing lemon-lime raspberry blanc, for example (for non-drivers only, of course!).
What’s on the menu? Meals come complete with a fruit salad and even its Bangers and Mash is served with a special grape sauce instead of gravy. Try the ultimate “Messy Breakfast” featuring yummy bacon-wrapped pineapple. A low-salt kids’ menu includes mini burgers and meatball pasta.
Top tip: Point your little treasures in the direction of the wooden toys in the little play corner to keep them amused.

Let the fun soar at Changi Airport Terminal 3
No stranger to families living in the eastern reaches of Singapore, Changi Airport’s kids’ facilities are second to none and guaranteed to keep them occupied for hours. Aim for Hello Kitty and Pompompurin at the Sanrio-themed playground in Basement 2. This is the perfect play spot while parents enjoy tucking into brunch at one of the many nearby restaurants and cafés. Elsewhere in this terminal, your children can also have fun creating their own colourful masterpieces at the wood-block rubbing station or get lost in a book or two at the reading corner.
What’s on the menu? There’s a huge choice of eats, everything from the mouthwatering Wingettes and Drumettes at 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken to spicy Beef Boat Noodle from Aoy’s Thai Noodle Bar.
Top tip: Older kids (participants have to be at least 1.3 metres tall) can try The Slide @ T3, which is Singapore’s tallest slide and you reach speeds of up to six metres per second! Spend $10 at Changi Airport in a single day to redeem one free ride.

EatPlayLove Craft Café
With a name like EatPlayLove, it’s pretty clear this Kampong Glam café aims to be easy-going and kid-friendly. Pretty pastel blue interiors are festooned with brightly coloured bunting, cute posters and a wall to ceiling mural – all of which are certain to wow any child. The café’s main draw is its arts and crafts corner where, for $5 per hour at weekends (for 2 hours on weekdays), little ones can unleash their inner Picasso by getting crafty with paints or make their own foil art. An extensive range of craft materials is available, from paper puppet kits to sticker mosaics and shrink-plastic art.
What’s on the menu? Western favourites and a wide selection of Thai-inspired dishes. Favourites include the Creamy Tom Yum Pasta and the Green Curry Chicken. Children will love the Mac & Cheese or the Chicken Baked Rice, available on the kids’ menu at $9 per dish.
Top tip: Started your day a bit late? No worries. Try the all-day breakfast, a sweet pancake garnished with fresh sliced bananas, vanilla ice cream and topped with cookie crumbles. You also get a free flow of ice lemon tea or a cup of coffee or tea.
