Our two boys – Ryan and Jared – are football crazy, which means each weekend we’re busy ferrying them to practices and matches. In between they also have swim classes and enrichment lessons, so we spend heaps of time out on the road. For us, the ideal car has to be practical and reliable, with plenty of comfort and style.
Last Saturday, we took the boys to their football practice at Bedok Stadium. We loaded all the required equipment in the Grand C4 SpaceTourer, from the boys’ football outfits to their shoes and bags and were pleasantly amazed by how much leftover space there was in the vehicle.
Ryan and Jared loved having all the space to stretch out in the back, spreading out their favourite books, games and snacks to keep themselves occupied. It certainly didn’t take long for them to feel right at home.
The interior has a really classy feel, but what we loved most was the flexible back seat configuration. Simply by adjusting the seats, the boys had more than enough space to change into their football kit and lace up their boots in the third-row seats, which can easily be configured to fold flat.

Another thing I liked was the automatic gearbox, which delivered much faster gear shifts than other cars I’ve driven. This gave quicker pick-up performance and impressive drivability.
Now while I’m not much of a tech-head, even I enjoyed the large 12-inch panoramic HD display that comes with a responsive 7-inch Touchscreen Infotainment panel equipped with Apple CarPlay™ and MirrorLink® connectivity, which allows me to access compatible applications from my smartphone with ease. It also comes with a navigation feature that is so easy to use.
Another thing that definitely scored highly with the whole family was the panoramic sunshade windscreen. When it was pulled back, the whole sky above us was revealed, creating a bright and welcoming ambience for a pleasant trip.
At the end of our all-action day, unloading all our gear and shopping bags proved a breeze. Why? The Citroën Grand C4 SpaceTourer has a clever motion sensor equipped boot, so it opens and closes simply by moving your foot beneath the rear bumper.
To sum up the Citroën Grand C4 SpaceTourer’s performance, my family can report high scores in every department. Our family drives around a lot and sometimes we take short trips up to Malaysia, and the ample boot space is ideal to load all the belongings for the family road trips and our weekend activities.
