Cycle & Carriage is supplying SingPost with a fleet of pure electric Citroën ë-Dispatch vehicles in line with the Singapore Green Plan 2030
SINGAPORE, 21 April 2023 Cycle & Carriage Singapore Pte Ltd (Cycle & Carriage) is pleased to announce a deal to supply 35 units of the pure electric Citroën ë-Dispatch to Singapore Post Limited (Singpost).
The company completed deliveries of the ë-Dispatch at the end of March, supporting SingPost's goal to transition to a 100% electric delivery fleet by 2026 and its commitment to becoming the first postal service in the APAC region to do so.
The Citroën ë-Dispatch is a fully electric van that offers a range of up to 339 kilometres on a single charge. It is ideal for urban delivery operations and is designed to be both efficient and reliable. With no tailpipe emissions, the ë-Dispatch makes deliveries without polluting the im mediate environment, while its silent drivetrain means it also contributes nothing to noise pollution.
DECARBONISING MAIL DELIVERY
Cycle &
Carriage is excited to branch out into the postal service sector for the first time by
partnering with SingPost. In providing a fleet of electric vehicles, the company is helping to
decarbonise mail delivery, but is also mindful that mail carriers require the utmost in
reliability from their vehicles and partners.
The partnership is testament to SingPost’s faith and confidence in Cycle & Carriage as a mobility solutions provider. For its part, Cycle & Carriage is fully committed to its mission to accelerate the adoption of sustainable transportation in Singapore.
“We are excited to partner with SingPost on this important initiative, said Ms Dawn Pan, Chief Operation Officer of Multi Franchise Operations at Cycle & Carriage Singapore. “The Citroën ë-Dispatch is an excellent choice for delivery operations, and we are delighted to play a part in helping SingPost to achieve their sustainability goals.
GOING
BEYOND THE LAST MILE
To
examine how e-mobility can be made even more attractive to local companies, Cycle &
Carriage is taking the extra step of conducting two important trials with SingPost. These
involve:
1. Mobile Servicing
Cycle & Carriage will soon operate a Mobile Servicing team to provide an onsite
servicing to SingPost vehicles instead of having them drive the vehicles into a
workshop for care and maintenance. Doing so will help to optimise operation
efficiency and minimise downtime, and will be a significant benefit to any logistics
operator. SingPost simply makes arrangements with Cycle & Carriage’s Aftersales
team, and the team will go to their facility to perform the necessary servicing and
maintenance work.
2. Carbon Tracking and Reporting
This is a telematics service which will be onboarded to SingPost’s fleet of Citroën
ë-Dispatch electric vans. Telematics in vehicles refers to the use of wireless communication technologies and sensors to transmit data from a vehicle to a central system for analysis and reporting. Cycle & Carriage will track the vans’ daily runs and process the data to allow SingPost to find out the amount of carbon they save. This enables SingPost to report its carbon reduction accurately and help to bring full accountability to its decarbonisation efforts. Companies that need to get this data to get green certification will also find this service useful.
These solutions are on track to be ready by June, and will add to Cycle & Carriage’s scope as an e-Mobility service provider. “These illuminating trials will help us to continuously improve our services, and prove that we are not just any distributor,” said Ms Pan. “We also aim to help improve our clients’ operation efficiency and ease their journey on the road to e-Mobility.”
MAKING E-LOGISTICS EASY
To help support the Singapore Green Plan 2030, Cycle & Carriage is committed to providing all customers with the best possible solutions for their clean mobility needs. In addition to a wide range of electric vehicles available for both retail and leasing, the company pioneered and offers a comprehensive suite of Electric Mobility Solutions that cater to every aspect of the journey to electrification.
These solutions include specialised consultations that help customers evaluate their many options, from what type of electric vehicle would best suit their operations to what the best charging solutions are. Uniquely, Cycle & Carriage is able to offer a turnkey e-logistics service to help companies that may not be ready yet to own a fleet of electric vans. It can lease these electric vehicles, provide delivery drivers and even take care of charging, leaving customers free to focus on growing their business.
“As a leading automotive dealer in Singapore, we are totally committed to supporting our customers in their transition to sustainable transportation,” said Ms Pan. “Whether they are already well on the road to electric mobility or taking their first steps, we are ready to be a part of the journey.”
